Two Planets Discovered Sharing the Same Orbit
2011.02.25
This is the first time scientists have seen this take place, two planets sharing the same orbit around a star. In our solar system, each planet orbiting around the Sun does so in its own orbit. Mercury has the orbit closest to the Sun and Venus is next in line with the Earth next. Click the following link to read up on what the Kepler telescope has now discovered: "In a cosmic first, the Kepler telescope has discovered two planets sharing the same orbit. There is a theory that says our moon was created when a body sharing our orbit crashed into Earth, but up until now no one had found evidence of co-orbiting planets elsewhere in the universe."  Visit Website ]
