On July 20th, 2004, Rabbi Dr. Moshe Dror spoke to the Pikes Peak Chapter of the World Future Society on, The Third Exodus: a Cyber Rabbi's Vision, at the Penrose House in Colorado Springs. Some thirty-five Future society friends and guests attended this lecture on the future of conciousness in the beautiful Garden Pavilon room.

Rabbi Dror is co-author of the recent work, Futurizing The Jews: Alternative Futures for Meaningful Jewish Existence in the 21st Century (Praeger Publishers, Westport, Conn, 2003). Dror works for the Israeli Ministry of Education helping educators integrate the internet into their instruction. He is an internationally known futurist with over 30 years experience, who completed his PhD in media ecology under Neil Postman. He coordinates  the World Future Society--Israel Chapter and is President of the World Network of Religious Futurists. He lives in Yeroham, a development town in southern Israel.

Rabbi Dror’s presentation, “The Third Exodus: a Cyber Rabbi's Vision,” took listeners on a Hero’s journey, starting with the desert trek of Abraham. God's first word to Abraham was "Get thee out" or leave your country and go on a journey to find your true self. Starting from this archetypal journey, Rabbi Dror referred to the first exodus of Moses, codified into the Law and Temple, then to the second exodus of Jesus, Rabbinic Judaism and Mohammed, codified into churches, synagogues and mosques. He claimed the third exodus now seeks God beyond temple or synagogue walls and uses Cyberia to explore the divine limits of human potential.

"The frontier of tomorrow is cyberspace and all youth are ‘Netizens’ of Cyberia.” Dror  related this new spiritual frontier to 1) rewiring the Brain: using the emitted light of computer technologies; 2) enhancing the right hemisphere learning environments that focus on "wholistic" learning and 3) the recent iconic revolution.

Crossing into this new land, claims Rabbi Dror, will constitute the "third exodus" for the Abrahamic religions, reshaping how faith relates to a transmodern age.

The "Cyber Rabbi" lecture tour to Colorado was hosted by the local World Future Society and sponsored by various local congregations, including Broadmoor Community Church, First Congregational Church, the Carl Bjorkman Foundation and Children Come First.
