Next morning he awoke her. "I didn't get one for you," he said and there were tears in the blue eyes she had gazed into for so many years. "That's okay," she patted him. "No, it's not. We'll go get you roses after breakfast!" "Not on these icy streets. It's snowing again. Don't you know how lucky we are to still have one another? You will always be my valentine. Once when I was little, I felt so bad because I had a whole bunch of valentines from school and I had none for my mother. She told me, "If you put a red bow in your hair, then you can be my valentine." "I just cannot remember these things anymore," he shook his head. "I know," she said, as she rose and started dressing. She was frying bacon when he appeared at the kitchen door. There he stood with a big red bow taped to his bald head!
