Contests
Be Careful What You Eat
By Stacy Mozer, Contest #200804

She took the mysterious seed and tossed it into her mouth.  It was salty and tangy. She chewed and swallowed.

Suddenly she felt hazy.  Her body felt different, lighter.  She blinked to steady herself and looked down at her tingly hands.  Then she stifled a scream.  Her hands were not there!  Nor were her feet, legs or the rest of her body!

What’s going on?, she thought.  She tried to pick up the bag the seed came from but it moved through her hand.  She bent down and twisted her head so that she could read it on the table.  Disappearing Act, the bag read.

What have I done? All I wanted was something to snack on.

The magic show had been going on for what seemed like hours and her family showed no signs of wanting to leave.  She hated magicians.  They were all so fake.  Well apparently not this one.

Then she felt her body warming.  She looked down and realized she was solid again.  She looked at the magician and was not surprised to see him wink at her.  She sat down quietly and watched the rest of the show.
