We've added Authors to the list of CCF categories. Starting in 2004 we will be highlighting authors' writings, reviews, and websites under this category. Face the Issue, a new PSA campaing, is under way and worth talking about. We've posted new links and also a gateway to spanish sites on the internet. Here's the CCF Bulletin with news and information recently posted to the CCF site:

NEW TO THE CCF SITE:

• News:
  • "Face the Issue" national PSA campaign  - ET-online brought us the news that "A-list stars such as HALLE BERRY, CATHERINE ZETA-JONES, NICOLE KIDMAN and JULIANNE MOORE are  using their power to raise awareness on a number of issues" such as anorexia, bulimia, alcoholism, drugs, and domestic abuse. These are excellent PSAs showing now on TV and also online. 
  • Old Wives' Tales: fact or fiction? - You've probably heard them all, "Eating carrots is good for your eyes," "Don't cross your eyes; they'll stay that way." Take our poll and then read the article to see whether there is fact of fiction behind these and other old wives' tales.
    
• Book Reviews:
  • Gilbert & Sullivan Set Me Free, Prairie Whispers, and Hear the Wind Blow - are three young adult novels reviewed by children's author Meridee Jones Cecil.
• Education:
  • A New Vision for Learning as a Nation Goes to College - Who are today’s college students? How has the role of higher education changed? These and other questions are explored in the Greater Expectations National Paper published by the Association of American Colleges & Universities.

  • Shaping the Next One-Hundred Years - How can policy makers consider the long term effect of today's decisions? Check out this RAND report on new analytical methods to do just that.
