Not Just An American Dream
By Fahlon Murdaugh, Contest #200812

Jess looked up at the night sky so full of stars. Slowly she drifted to sleep in the calm and peaceful night air and dreamed she had found true happiness in the satisfaction of accomplishing her life's goal. She dreamed she lived in a beautiful home with the love of her life and two small children. Her wish of becoming a doctor had come true. The true American Dream had become a reality in her life and she was both humbled and proud by her achievement.

As she awoke, she found herself to be the same old teenage girl who had always wished to be someone else. Except now she had a passion to better herself as a young woman and pursue her ultimate happiness. Her very own American Dream was no longer just a dream. It was now a possible reality.
