Contests
Fern Huggers
By Ron Heimbecher (aka: Ron Chalice), Contest #200705

Frankly, my dear, Earth Day is just another one of those days they make up so you’ll buy stuff. Ya know. Like Mother’s day and Secretaries day. The fern huggers tell us Earth Day is a way of remindin’ us to take care of things. Git after the govmint for lettin’ the place go to hell in a handbasket.

I was talkin’ to Leonard. You know, that T-Rex that lives over the ridge a piece. He’s been buyin’ all kinds of survival gear. The Pterodactyl at the surplus store says he heard there’s an asteroid on the way. Govmint knows about it, but they ain’t doin’ anything. Gonna smack into us and poof! Holy Stegasaurus! We’re all extinct.

Like that’ll ever happen.
