"Well, Battie darling, I’d like to fly down and do something that humans do." "Such as what, Frankly?" "Well, play a game…" "That sounds nice Frankly. Tonight when they’re all asleep, we’ll find a game that’s our size." Flying around that night, they spied a soccer field. "Too big!" Next, in the moonlight they saw a set of checkers left outside by some children. "Too small!—Look, the squares are too small to even hop on." They circled over a golf course. "Way, way too big! Humongous," called Frankly. Then, they found the perfect game, in an open barn. Table tennis. Picking up a bat in each wing, Battie spied the ball. "Perfect Frankly," she said with a smile in her beak. "Frankly, my dear, throw the ball!" Frankly picked up the ping-pong ball in his beak and dropped it on Battie’s side of the table. She hit it down on her side of the table, then with the other bat, hit it to the other end. "Two hits!" Frankly screeched, "To hits to who?" © 2007 Carolyn Ann Aish.
