The Stormy Night
By Juliet R., Contest #200710

It was a dark and stormy night. The blinds on the windows were shaking and so was I.

The thunder crashed and the lightning flashed. I was scared to come out  from under my bed. It was the middle of the night and everyone was sleeping but me.

Every time the thunder roared I would jump and start counting the seconds till the lightning came. I was waiting for the storm to pass.

The next morning I could not wake up for school because I did not get any sleep all night long. Well, that was a good excuse for not going to school.
