The Dream
By Diane P. McCloskey, Contest #200909

It was the first day of the new school year and there I was, like so many others, on my way to school. I saw lots of caddy girls across the street heading toward the schoolyard, books in hand, with their skirts so short I thought, "Why bother?" I could hear them laughing. No, wait…more like giggling.

Then I looked down and in all my life I was never so wanting to be somewhere else! I had not a stitch of clothes on! I was stark naked! I threw my hands and arms around my chest and crossed my legs really tight, and then I heard my husband's voice. "Honey, you okay? You just slugged me in the mouth with your elbow!"

What the heck is the deal with naked dreams, anyway?
