If you've ever wanted to write a novel but didn't know where to start this was the perfect class to take. In this six week, hands-on workshop, Pam McCutcheon showed participants how to start from nothing but an idea and flesh it out until it became a full-fledged story. Using the basics of characterization, plotting, and self-editing, participants used a step-by-step approach to develop the outline of a novel or short story, get feedback from the instructor and the class, and learn some tips on the business of writing and how to market and sell their work.

Pam McCutcheon is the author of two nonfiction books for writers, eight novels (with two more under contract), two novellas, and three short stories (the latter written as Pamela Luzier). She has taught at numerous writing workshops and conferences around the country and has served on the board of directors of three national and three local writing organizations. In addition, she has judged and/or administered many writing contests and worked as a freelance manuscript consultant. A former industrial engineer for the US Air Force, Ms. McCutcheon is now co-owner of Author, Author! bookstore.
