My favorite holiday title is: How Murray Saved Christmas
I am: Kelly Michaelis.
This book is my favorite because: "The illustrations are delightful. The colors are vivid and a little shocking. The text is wonderfully funny. It deserves to be read aloud--preferable giving Murray a New York accent if you can manage it. When I read it aloud to my middle school students, I usually have them in stitches by the end of the book."
My favorite holiday tradition is: "My family and I prepare a themed progressive dinner on Christmas Eve, visiting my house, my sister's house and my Mom and Dad's house. Themes we have used in the past include: Elvis's favorites, German favorites, White House recipes ."

Publisher Marketing: When Santa is put out of commission, deli owner Murray Kleiner reluctantly agrees to take his place, putting a spin on Christmas that's all his own. And with the help of a pushy elf and an eager-to-believe young boy, Murray finds that even though he's not big enough to fill Santa's suit, he's got more than enough heart to get the job done.
Review Quotes: "Reiss scores a bull’s-eye with this hilarious debut. Catrow’s puckish watercolors are equal to Reiss’s wit and lightning pace." Publishers Weekly, starred review.
