The CCF Book Club selects titles in different categories. No purchase is necessary to join either as an individual or as a group. If you choose to buy the books thru us, CCF has linked the book titles to where many of these titles are available at a discount. Email the CCF Book Club department to indicate which book discussion you want to participate in. A private listserve is set up for each individual book club group.

Ages 11-14 Selection:
The House of the Scorpion by Nancy Farmer, a two-time Newbery Honor author. This title is a recent 2002 National Book Award Winner. Based on the work of Joseph Campbell, this new and revised edition rpovides an insider's look at how writers (both fiction and non-fiction) can utilize mythic structure to create powerful narratives. Includes step-by-step guidelines for structuring plots and creating realistic characters. The ideas in this book will empower the writer's command of storytelling with the ancient wisdom of myth.
