It was not that Sam didn't appreciate his mom cooking a nutritious meal. She had even made the exact same meal for diner last night. It was just the other kids always picked on him for the healthy apple she gave him or the organic milk she packed in his lunch bag for him. While the other kids were having pizza and a soda, he was having wheat bread and water.
At first nobody cared: 1st Grade, 2nd Grade, 3rd Grade, they all went by in a flash. But then at 4th Grade the boys would laugh at him. Pretty soon, Sam didn't have friends!
So, he started throwing away his lunch, and not telling his Mom. He was now popular, the girls liked him, and the guys would now "hang" with him. Everything was great! Until Ms. Kim noticed, and told his Mom. They thought that he was being anorexic! Sam's Mom was crying, and Sam was laughing like crazy. He then explained, and his Mom arched her eyebrows, wondering, why he hadn't told her.
Today, my best friend Sam just eats at the cafeteria!
