It was not that Sam didn't appreciate his mom cooking a nutritious meal. Sam just couldn't stop from craving his favorite thing to eat. Nothing could beat the taste of butter! Sam liked butter so much he had started to make midnight visits to the refrigerator. Sam could tell by his mother's reaction one morning that she was starting to get suspicious.
"Sam, did you take a hunk of butter from the stick, with your finger?"
"Uhhh, maybe, accidentally."
"How do you accidentally leave a half inch deep hole in the butter? Sam, I eat this butter too, that is gross to go sticking your fingers in there like that. Try to be more careful."
Sam hadn't made a night visit to the fridge since. When he woke up Saturday morning he couldn't get to the kitchen fast enough. Saturday meant pancakes for breakfast and heaps and mounds of butter.
When Sam was sitting at the table, mouth watering, he heard the words that destroyed his morning.
"Sam, I know how much you like your butter, but I want to start eating healthier. That's why I picked up some margarine at the store."
