Brave Kim

It was a dark and stormy night, a night of horror for little Kim. That night Kim had agreed he would sleep alone like big boys do, even though he was always afraid of the dark. Up to now he had always slept with his parents.

Kim was still scared after his parents tucked him in and left the room. He kept thinking about the storm raging outside and how dark the streets really were. In his heart he kept saying "I’m a big boy and I’ll be brave."

Suddenly the wind blew even stronger and he heard creepy sounds coming from under his bed. Kim was terrified and ready to cry. The sounds grew louder and the storm blew stronger and Kim was really shaky.

Once more Kim said to himself, “I’m big boy and I’ll be brave!”

He got out of bed slowly and turned on the lights. As he went to look under his bed…Boom!...thunder struck again. Still shaking, Kim looked under the bed where he found Rocks, his puppy, cold and shaking as much as he was.

Kim hugged his puppy and they slept together that night. Kim was now a big and brave boy.
