A Brilliant Payback

The lingering scent of chocolate permeated the air. Breathing in deeply, Samantha grinned as the clerk asked, "Would you like a mini-brownie?"

"Mom, may I?" Samantha asked.

"Yes," mom said. While leaving the store she added, "Do you intend to share?"

"Well," Samantha grinned, "maybe."

Mom laughed and said, "It's good to share."

After dinner her brothers asked, "What’s for dessert?"

Mom turned to Samantha who said, "Don't look at me. I shared the brownies with the neighbors."

Her brothers groaned, "We want brownies."

"Sorry. No can do," Samantha said and walked away.

Her brothers made a gooey discovery when they got into bed and Logan cried out, "Eeewww! There's poop on our sheets!"

"Not poop, brownie crumbs" Mark said. “It smells like chocolate." Then he yelled, “Samantha I am going to get you!”

Samantha laughed, “Payback for the prank you played on me where you used real poop.

Logan glared at Mark and said, “I told you not to do that. She always gets back at you. And this time it included me when I had nothing to do with it."

Samantha looked at her brothers and said, "Technically I did share. A brilliant payback wouldn’t you say?”
