CCF Writers' Group in Colorado Springs
by Olgy Gary, New members welcomed!

Write CCF if you'd like CCF to sponsor your writing group.

A key component in my growth as a fiction writer has been the critique group I’ve been a part of for the past several years--A critique group composed of authors near and dear to my heart…who were complete strangers to me years ago at the 2001 Pikes Peak Writers Conference.  That’s where we met, over lunch one day, and have walked together ever since.

The Colorado Springs CCF Writers Critique Group meets on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of every month. The group will remain open to new members until further notice. Please contact CCF Groups for information on how to join or come to our next on-site meeting in Colorado Springs, CO.

  • What: CCF Writers Critique Group for both published and yet-to-be-published children and fiction writers (all genres).
  • When: 1st and 3rd Wednesday evenings of every month
  • Time: 6 to 9 pm 1st Wednesdays  /  7 to 9 pm 3rd Wednesdays
  • Where:
    • 1st Wed/month: Cheyenne Mountain Library [ get a map ]
    • 3rd Wed/month: Online meeting using virtual conference.
  • Cost: $24/calendar year membership fee and a commitment to attend regularly are required. If you meet your own writing goals for the year you get your money back. If you do not, then the pot is divided amongst the members who meet their goals.

We meet on site the first Wednesday of every month at the Cheyenne Mountain Library Branch of the Pikes Peak Library District. From 6 to 7 pm members bring whatever part of their manuscript they're having trouble with and the group brainstorms together on how to make it past that. This first hour can also be used for writing-related discussions, questions/answers, etc. From 7-9 pm we do our critiquing work.

Even if you have not done any new writing of your own between meetings, we still expect you to attend our two meetings per month. You would use that time to either critique other members' writing or to get some of your own writing done.
