Cupid was at it again, the man thought as he watched his nephew steal his first kiss.
The young boy straddled the side of the sandbox holding a red plastic shovel and matching bucket for a cute little girl with blonde hair. She squealed in delight as the boy smacked a wet kiss on her cheek. Then he stole away to the other side of the playground.
He has good taste, his uncle thought appreciatively. He watched his nephew looking at the little girl from afar. Only three years old and probably not yet aware of Cupid’s powerful arrows, the little boy was grinning from ear to ear.
“Which one’s yours?” The man asked the attractive redhead seated to his left. It was the fourth Saturday in a row that she’d been in the park. Today was the first time he’d had the nerve to speak to her.
“Emma, my niece, is over there,” she said as she pointed toward the little girl with blonde ringlets.
The man quickly noticed the absence of a wedding band and smiled to himself.
Cupid’s at it again, he thought, and wished it was as simple for him to steal a kiss too.
