With fingerprint in hand the detective got out of his car and checked the address of the estate, 5211 Farm Mill Road. Yep. This was the place.
Detective Stoner walked up to the big brown door with an old rusty handle and knocked. There was no answer. He knocked again. Still no answer. Detective Stoner, unfortunately, as he thought he would, had to rush back through the muddy driveway with rain pouring on his head to get his bullhorn.
He opened the car door and picked up the old yellow bullhorn off of the dash board. When he got back to the porch he paused to take out his brown leather notepad and scribble out the statement: Suspect does not answer. Then he put the notepad back in his pocket, pushed the red button on the bullhorn and said, “Open the door! This is Detective Stoner from the Metro Police department! You are not in any trouble! I just need to verify your fingerprint!”
Stoner heard footsteps come closer, and all of a sudden the door opened. There was no one there and the darkness opened and covered Stoner until he breathed no more.
