With fingerprint in hand, applicant Henrietta Wyzard approached the desk. She waited there patiently until Officer Manning looked up at her.

“Oh, good. You came back.”

“Yes I have the fingerprint cards here for you” Henrietta replied with a nervous smile.

“It’s ok my dear. There is much to learn. Hopefully it will soon become second nature to you.”

“It is an honor to be among the first chosen to become Dragon Patrol Officers,” said Henrietta.

Commanding Officer Danu laughed, “Yes. It is honor to be selected. The real test comes if a dragon will select you for a partner.”

They proceeded to where other candidates were waiting to see if they got selected. Just then a Red Dragon dropped from the sky, heading straight for Henrietta.

She gasped in awe. “That is magnificent,” she told the red dragon as it landed in front of her.

“Thank you,” the red dragon replied with a smile. “I select this human to partner with.”

“Congratulations, Henrietta,” said Officer Danu. “You made the team.”

“YES!” exclaimed Henrietta. Then she blushed, noticing that others were still waiting to be selected, and mumbled, “Oh sorry.”

“YES indeed,” came the amused chuckle of the red dragon.
