"Frankly, my dear, Earth Day is just a ploy by those crazy Earthlings to get us to spend money on their self-absorbed little planet! Those Earthlings have always thought that they're the center of the universe." Zerling hovered mid-air as she watched Javorka shine her antenna.
"But, Mom, all my friends are going to Earth on Earth Day! It's the biggest party in the solar system," Javorka whined. The green glow from Javorka's third eye betrayed her anger. Zerling had always been able to read her daughter.
Her tone softened. "Honey, you've barely just learned to wax your antenna; you're not ready for a trip that far. Why don't you plan a nice trip to our moon?" Javorka jerked out two of her eyeballs and threw them across the floor at her mother.
"Stop rolling your eyes, dear. It was just a suggestion," Zerling said as she tossed the orbs back to Javorka. "The answer is still no."
"I'm never going to get off this God-forsaken planet! I'll never get off Pluto! And it's all your fault!" she pouted as she floated off to her room.
It was Zerling's turn to roll her eyes across the floor. "Kids!"
