Send us your first lines! This is a call for suggested "first lines" we can use for the CCF Online Writing Contest. The contest changes themes, and first lines, on a monthly basis. We often associate first lines to a monthly theme but not always. 

CCF began its online writing contest in 2007 and have been posting winning entries ever since. We would love to receive suggested first lines from our site's visitors and contest participants.

Make your first line suggestion a generic one. Contest participants are free to choose who the story is about. For one of our contests the first line was "With fingerprint in hand..." The character who had the fingerprint in hand could have been a man, woman, child, boy, girl, a pet, a wild animal, or...even a robot! It didn't even have to be the main character who had the fingerprint in hand! What would this character do with it in the story? Where is he/she/it going? What is the setting of the story? When we use a generic first line we allow contest participants to make all those decisions and take the story where their imaginations lead them. 

There are various websites that carry monthly themes. Here are some of them. Visit them and see if you get some ideas for first lines to submit to CCF.
