Frankly, my dear, Earth Day is not a day
For making Mudpies done "gourmet."
Nor is its meaning to be found
In singing praises to the ground.
Nor is it all about old Sal
Though, yes, she's quite an earthy gal!
There'll be no "Earthy Gal Parade"
For Sal and all her girlfriends.
It's not her birthday - Planet Earth.
Nobody knows when she was birthed.
Twas with a "Bang!" that much we know.
But no one knows how long ago.
Don't buy a present, dig a hole,
And bury it for earth, dear soul.
It isn't gifts that our earth needs,
It's care and kind attention.
Please take the day to contemplate
Our lovely earth and of her fate.
If she's to flourish and to thrive
We all must help her to survive.
