Waving frantically at the street car, James and Melissa shout, “Stop. Stop.” The streetcar stops and James boosts Melissa up before getting on.
“Hey Melissa go ahead and sit down” James says. “Melissa?” He turns to see what she is staring at and notices the look on the faces of the people. They were terrified, as if something horrible scared them to death. With growing dread he looks at the driver, who laughs hysterically and sends the street car rolling down the San Francisco hills.
Screaming, both Melissa and James try to jump off the fast moving street car.
“We are going to die!” Melissa screams. “James, we need to get off!”
Just then the driver grabs James hand and it starts to whither away. The street car speeds down the hills towards the ocean. As the next curve on the road comes up, the street car slows down a bit. Melissa takes a deep breath and jumps off, just as the street car flies off into the bay.
As she gets up, she notices a newspaper box. In the window, the front page reads, “Streetcar fails to stop and sends all to their death in the ocean.”
