And I Survived

National nothing day finally arrived. Proof of this was found within the scribbled over daily calendar that had big X’s marked through the center of each square leading up to - Today!

Two months ago, I had learned about this special event and carefully marked in on my day planner, making sure to not forget. Then the chaos of life hit.

First there was my oldest daughter, Marisa, graduating with honors from college, followed by my youngest daughter, Melanie celebrating her 18th birthday. Less than a week later Mark, my husband of 24-3/4 years, celebrated his 46th birthday. Then we had new furniture arrive, rearranging each bedroom to accommodate the new beds, finding parts were missing and needing those parts in order to complete the tasks. Then came the disenchanting news that my oldest brother had been placed behind bars due to a DUI felony. Another phone call stated that my youngest brother had his wife cheat on him.

But today none of this matters, because today is blank - it is National Nothing Day and I can fall into my brand new bed and finally get some rest knowing that I survived all of this!
