I dug my toes into the soft white sand and waited for impact. He did not disappoint. The kiss was power. That he would choose this way to make up was questionable, audacious. I guess he wanted as many people around as possible.
Sam knew I was mad. He knew kissing was the last thing I had in mind. He also knew I could not resist. His last indiscretion was absolutely unacceptable. My best friend had been at the receiving end of these same lips only days ago. My silence towards both of them since the betrayal should have been answer enough. It should have meant I was through with them both. And yet here I stood, kissing him back.
