Kyle was sitting in his wheelchair. As he looked outside he held a family photo album in his lap. He had been looking thorough his sister's basketball pictures. The children out on the street were also playing basketball. He had always wondered how it felt to play basketball. How it felt to walk and to jump.
Kyle's legs had been paralyzed ever since he could remember. His mother often told him a story about a car accident that occurred when he was young. They were coming from a party when a drunk driver plowed his car into theirs. Kyle’s older brother had died in that accident because he wasn't wearing his seatbelt and was thrown out of the car upon impact. Other family members were injured and Kyle was left paralyzed.
Whenever Kyle remembers this story, as he is doing right now, he always prays for his brother to rest in peace and thanks God for giving him a life. He often says to himself, "so what if I can't play basketball. At least I have an opportunity to live my life to the fullest."
