Moments of Silence

The look in the tiger's eyes was one of many moments in my life that I will never forget.

We were silent for what felt like eternity, but was only a few minutes.  I felt a sense of comfort and understanding for the most beautiful creature standing before me. The tiger felt it too.  We were forever bonded in a way that no one would ever accept or understand.

Through each other's eyes we communicated that both of us were safe from those who try to harm us. Bonded for life, I will forever remember the look in the tiger's eyes.

Olivia B., a 13-1/3 year old 8th grade student, is a Hispanic girl from Phoenix, Arizona, who loves writing, dancing and being with her friends. Olivia feels that family and her religion are very important in her life.
