With July 4th just days away, everybody was anxious to know the weather. They had been promised a picnic, but they couldn't do that in the rain.
"What does it say?" asked Vanessa.
"It says it will be a clear sky," said Kristy.
"Whew. That's inspiring. Now we'd be able to go the picnic with no problems!" Vanessa nodded.
They worked hard to make this a perfect Independence Day celebration, and the weather forecast promised they were going to get it. Now all they needed to do was wait.
"Yes! It's the 4th of July!" they screamed to each other when the day came. They had everything ready for their picnic, but they forgot to look outside.
"Oh," said Kristy. “Rain."
All of their good mood washed down.
"You know, just because it's raining doesn't mean we can't have fun," said Vanessa.
"You're right! We should make the best of everything. Let's make this an Independence Day to remember!"
And it was. Kristy and Vanessa decided to have the picnic indoors. Everybody had a good time and all were happy.
