It was not that Sam didn't appreciate his mom cooking a nutritious meal, although her mom would do anything for him to eat nutritious food.
One day his mom got an idea on how to make a food recipe that surely Sam would like. They went to the market to buy seafood, meats, many kinds of vegetables and many ponkans, a type of mandarin orange.
He didn't like vegetables but he really loved to eat a lot of fruits. So when his mom made a different vegetable salad for him, adding lots of ponkan pieces to it, she was so surprised and delighted that her son finished two plates of salad and said to her that it was delicious.
From that day on, he always asked her to make this, his favorite salad. And she did.
