Kyle was sitting in his wheelchair wondering if he would ever be able to walk. Everyone told him that he could do anything he set his mind to, but he had doubts.
Sitting there pitying himself wouldn’t solve the task at hand but that is all he felt like doing right now. How could anyone know how he felt? They did it every day and complained about how long it took or how there had to be an easier way.
It had been months since he had been able to walk and even though he wanted it badly he couldn’t seem to make his legs do it. Walking seemed like a dream from long ago.
It was an accident that had put him in the wheelchair not that he would have done anything differently about that day. Kyle was the quarterback on his high school football team and had just released the pass when someone from the other team slammed into him. His team had won but the blow had left both his legs broken.
That day made him realize that there were a lot of things he still wanted to accomplish in life. With that Kyle grabbed the stabilizer bars and began his therapy.
