"I dug my toes into the soft white sand," said Abby, as she read her book aloud.
Her little sister, Giuliana, chimed, "Can I read? And can I sleep in your bed with you tonight?"
Ugg. having a little sister was irritating, thought Abby. Their mom came into the bedroom to say good night.
"Why does Guiliana have to shadow everything I do?"
"You are the older sister. She looks up to you."
They turned in for the night and before long, Abby began to snore, only to awake when she felt her sister tossing in bed.
"Stop moving," commanded Abby. "I can't sleep." But at seeing Giuliana’s puppy eyes, she said, "Maybe this will help," and yelled, "PILLOW FIGHT!”
Pillows were flying in the air like kites soaring in the wind. Both girls were laughing.
“Guiliana, I bet you can't make bunnies using your hands." Abby took out her flashlight and started making creature shadows on the walls.
"That is so cool, let me try," said Guiliana.
When they finished, Abby smiled as she and her little sister nestled together under the blankets. Abby thought having a little sister shadow was not as bad as she thought.
