The Snow Fort

As they approached the alley in the snow Sam said, "Let's build a snow fort."

"Yeah," said Tom.

They walked around and found the perfect place. It was a little gully in a field with snow packed around it and hardly any snow inside it.

Tom said, "Let's build here. You start on the walls and I'll shovel out the snow."

Soon they were ready to pack snow for a roof.

"Let's get a board to put on top," Sam said.

"All right!  Good idea!" yelled Tom.

Soon the board was up and everything was done.

"Hey, it's getting windy!" Sam yelled. "Let's get inside!"

They crawled in and soon were warm.

"It's kind of hot in here. I'm taking off my coat," said Sam.

"Me too," said Tom.

They stayed playing in and around their fort until they heard their mom calling them.

"Let's come back later. I didn't know snow forts were so much fun!" said Tom.

And that's what they did. They went to their snow fort every day that winter to play.
