"What?!?! There's actually a National Save A Spider Day?" exclaimed Josh. He rushed to his closet and called, “Come out, Cedric!” Turning he said, “Meet my sister, the eternal spinster. Cloe, this is Cedric, he’s over three hundred years old, comes from way back.”
A huge hairy spider leapt from the closet and covered Cloe completely, hugging her with eight legs.
Cloe laughed and kissed the spider. With a cloud of rainbow stars and sparkling dust, Cedric turned into a young man, dressed in the clothes of a prince from the 17th Century.
“My Princess!” exclaimed Cedric.
“How did you know about him?” demanded Josh.
“I read a ‘fantasy’ I got from the library. And I knew you had a very large spider …”
“So, it’s not National Save the Spider Day?”
“Of course not. And I’m not to be the Eternal Spinster anymore…”
“No, you shall be Queen Cloe of Sharidar when we return,” Cedric said.
“Return?--You’re not going without me!” Josh tried to push in between them.
“Of course we are. We’ll visit sometime. Come Cedric, my prince, let’s go.”
They disappeared into the closet. Josh looked and blinked. His closet was empty.
