The look in the tiger’s eyes was one of many I had seen before. She looked at me with her strong, sky-blue eyes. I could tell this was the start of a beautiful friendship.
Suddenly, my assistant, Virginia, said, “Ready to go?”
I paused for a minute and said, “Okay.”
As we drove back to the research lab, I began to think about the tiger. I had seen many tigers like it before, but this one seemed different. As I drove up to the lab, I saw my boss standing on the grass beside the parking lot.
“What’s up?” I asked.
“You are!” he said “I liked the photos you took so much, that I’m going to have them copied and give them to the museum for everyone to see! I’m also going to let you spend most of your time in the woods, studying tigers!”
As my boss predicted, I spent most of my time studying that tiger and taking lots of neat photos. Then, one day, as I was looking at the tiger, something I least expected happened. The tiger spread its wings, took to the air, and landed right beside me.
We were friends.
