The look in the tiger’s eyes was one of the scaredest looks ever. He had never seen a deer! Maybe it had sharp claws and teeth!
He raced and raced until he found his friend the lion. Tiger said to him “Save me! Save me!”
Lion exclaimed “Who! What! Where! When! How?”
Tiger replied “There’s a big scary, gigantic fluffy-tailed creature!”
Lion said, “You just saw that scary beast? I saw it! I was running to tell you to watch out.” Lion decided what they should do. “Let us go and get a closer look!”
Tiger meekly agreed.
They walked up and over the hill. Right in their path was the big fluffy-tailed BEAST! The creature looked at them and said, “Oh my! What are you doing so far from home?” Lion and tiger stood straight up, took a step back and scrambled away like the wind. The deer twitched her tail and trotted away.
Lion and tiger made a direct beeline for home. Terror filled their eyes. Mama Tiger and Mama Lion were having tea. They turned to look at their baby cubs and said, “Oh! What has frightened you so? Come and have your peanut butter crackers!”
