Tragedy

The life jackets were thrown at us. We screamed as we realized our boat was sinking.

"Mom I am scared!" I screamed as I knew it was time to jump into the ocean. I never thought this would happen. I had been on the Staten Island ferry so many times, but this time it was my dad's friend's boat.

"I know, sweeties. Just hold on to me and don't let go no matter what happens!"

My dad was helping my brother get his life jacket on and then we all grabbed hands. We jumped and I felt like my heart stopped. We swam for an hour in hunger and in pain but we all stayed together and we worked it out! We were on shore and soon a helicopter came to get us! We were safe we made it through my worst nightmare!

But where was my dad's friend?
