The Underwater Bomb

The life jackets were stopping the blood flow to and from my arms. Waves crashed against the rubber boat. The glowing string strained, under pressure to keep the rubber dinghy attached to a gleaming yacht. “Please, come quick,” I begged to no one in particular.

I’m not a reliant person. I never rely on anybody. If you had asked me a year ago if I would rely on my 5-year-old sister to rescue me from a mad, evil maniac who at this exact moment was plotting my death and in five minutes would carry out these plans I would have replied “No!” and called the police to take you to away. Guess what I’m doing right now, I’m relying on my 5-year-old sister to rescue me from a mad, evil maniac who, at this exact moment, is plotting my death and in five minutes will carry out these plans. Sound familiar?

I hung my head in shame. I looked over the side of the boat; a fish glared and coughed up a piece of paper with clear printing on it. I read the note with disbelief  “I’m coming for you.” A flood of relief passed over me.
