It was the first day of the new school year, and all of the children in Mrs. Wall's 4th grade class were very excited! The day started off as usual- morning announcements, attendance, and lunch selections. Pizza!!! No better choice for the first day of school. We made it through our morning classes and then came lunch and recess, AWESOME!!!
After recess, Mrs. Wall had us come in to use the bathroom and wash our hands, to rid them of any germs we may have picked up, including the dreaded "Swine Flu." Mrs. Wall explained it was a virus, just like any other virus, but scientists were concerned that it might mutate, making it even more deadly than other viruses.
We all asked questions and Mrs. Wall answered them. She explained that there were little Purell hand sanitizers all over the school and that we should use them as much as possible to keep us healthy.
Funny though, I don't ever remember being taught about a deadly virus and hand sanitizer on the first day of school. Well, I suppose that Mrs. Wall's 4th grade class all became a little "Weiser" on this first day of school.
