Cupid's Arrow

Cupid was at it again... I had sworn to myself to never fall in love since the last romance had ended in shattered heartbreak.  But I could feel the nudge of cupid's arrow. It entered into my heart the moment my eyes met the eyes of the tall, dark-haired gentleman holding the door for me. On this cold, dreary day, my heart felt warmth from his beautiful smile.

"No Cupid, No!"  I screamed. "I must not give in to the slow, cold ache for this stranger's love."

Who knew that Cupid could be so relentless in his dire quest to make the strong turn weak, the determined to cave, and the happy contented single heart to desire companionship?  Musings from the past have come to haunt me again, for Cupid's arrow has found its way into my heart.

Lisa Anne Peter, from Henderson, TN, enjoys writing for children and it is her goal to have her Children's book stories published.  Lisa is a published author through publishamerica.com (Lyrics and Poems: The Melody of My Soul).  At this time Lisa does not have an active website or blog.  She is working on getting a podcast going in the near future. This is Lisa's second entry to the CCF Online writing contest. Click to read her entry, "And I Survived," themed after National Nothing Day.
