We've been receiving and enjoyinga free subscription to The New York Times online for quite some time. Now they have launched TimesSelect, a service that gives you access to every article published in The New York Times since 1851. After the 14-days free trial period is over, the cost is $49.95/year. University students and faculty with a valid school email address can purchase TimesSelect for a 50% discount.

Check with your public library and school prior to subscribing to TimesSelect as they may already have in place subscriptions to this and other newspapers and periodicals via electronic databases. What we liked about this service is that, especially for writers, it allows them a 14-day free trial period where they research articles published for the past 100 years. Afterwards, if they find the service worthwhile, they can subscribe on a year-to-year basis.

Click on the image below to access the free 14-day service...and write back to us and tell us how you like it!
