Trying to lose weight, you need to watch how fast the pounds are coming
off. While I was on WW-online, I had a week where, for the first time ever, I
had a 4 pound loss and then the following week I lost another 2 pounds. The
litle blurb that comes up on WW-online after you input your weekly weight said,
"great loss but..." and pointed me to a URL that mentioned the dangers of fast weight loss.
All my adult life I've chased after "instant" and "super fast" weight loss
programs. Each and every one of them has failed me for they only worked in
making me gain even more weight. The more instant and fast the loss was, the
faster it all came back... and brought additional friends with it.
I'm amazed these days when I go through the grocery store lines and see the
magazines covers: "Lose 30 pounds in 30 days!"... "Lose 10 pounds in a week!" I
shake my head nowadays but I used to buy those magazines and attempt what they
said to do, dreaming of achieving my instant weight loss.
This
article Weight Watchers pointed me to is right on the money. The week after
my quick weight loss I was very sick, in a lot of pain. Turns out when I
saw the doctor on Friday that I did have electrolyte (fluid) imbalances which
led to a bladder infection. Very painful! Antibiotics did the trick and the
article Weight Watchers pointed me to confirmed that slow but steady is the way
to go on this weight loss journey... for the rest of my life... until I reach
goal!
